It’s New Year’s Eve. Whether you have plans for a big night
out on the town, or a quiet repose in a more secluded getaway, you will likely
give thought to those in your acquaintance who shared with you some aspect of
the past year.
Whether 2013 was a good year for you or not—in my case, I’d
say it was a year I hope never to repeat—you can quickly think of those who
made the year a bit brighter, more encouraging, or even delightful. Of course,
part of sharing the cheer of the New Year is to pass along your gratitude to
those others for the role they have played in making it so.
For my part, I wish to express my gratefulness to each of
you for reading along, sharing your comments and observations—and, in some
cases, a lingering visit over a good cup of coffee—and keeping me company on my
genealogical research journey this past year. A blog isn’t really a blog
without a conversation, and you have kept the conversation going.
Best wishes to all of you for a brighter 2014!

2013 wasn't the best of years. I'd give it a C-
ReplyDeleteI hope 2014 is a good one! Happy New Year!!!!
Thanks, Iggy! And thanks for all your comments and posts this past year. I'm certainly joining you in hoping for a good one in 2014!
DeleteI give it a B, it could always be worse...better too but that is life I guess.
ReplyDeleteHappy New Year to you my warm California friend, I hope your 2014 is a wonderful year for you and that trip you have planned should be something to look forward to!
Thank you, Far Side! Yes, that trip slated for the fall of 2014 is really something to look forward to!
DeleteHere's to a great New Year for you and yours!
It was an A- year for me personally: planned and executed two beautiful weddings for my daughters and gained two devoted sons-in-law. But my poor blog and research took a hit earning them a D+. I vow to get back on track in 2014 -- but not today. HA
ReplyDeleteYeah, definitely not today!
DeleteCongratulations on such a stellar year, Wendy! With so many projects in the works, especially on behalf of your daughters' special occasions, I'd call that an A+ kind of year. Congratulations! Don't worry about your blog. It will get there when it gets there. (But, speaking on behalf of your readers, I hope it's soon.)
