All is Calm

No matter what turmoil is going on in your corner of the world today, I wish you the kind of peace that passes understanding: that deep, inner assurance that, no matter what happens, you will be fine. Sometimes, looking forward to that eventual place of "better" can help bring the calm that makes a difference, that awakens us to gratitude for what had previously evaded our notice.

Christmas is one of those times which evokes thoughts of gratefulness—first, of course, for the arrival of a Lord and savior who leads to that incomprehensible peace, but for so many other details swirling around us in this thing called Life. For the closeness of family, the deep conversation with special friends, the shared goals with coworkers or fellow volunteers on projects accomplished which mean so much to us.

Perhaps it is thoughts such as these that bring a special calm to Christmas. When all the work is done, the family is gathered round and good times are shared, that mellow afterglow of the holiday calm seems so special. Today, I wish the same for you and your family, no matter where your personal journey has been taking you.
