This One’s For You, Far Side

A conversation about favorite Christmas cookies over at Far Side of Fifty got me started.

I promise I had no intention of taking this posting detour. I’m all set to start a new series here at A Family Tapestry, but now I’ve gone and veered off the path of reason and diligent organization and into the realm of true confessions and meddling.

Favorite Christmas cookie, you ask? One that I’d make in my own kitchen? I haven’t taken the opportunity in years.

Lately, I’ve found it more prudent to stick with soups and vegetables.

Perhaps now, you’ll understand why….

Well, it was some vegetables that I tried my hand on, late in the Thanksgiving process the other day.

As they say, “In everything, give thanks….”

    1. Oh, well...it was an experience!

Let's just say, if you and I ever get the chance to get together, we let someone else do the cooking! ;)

  2. I like marshmallows that black! They must have been covering sweet potatoes and caught fire..was there an alarm?

You really need to make some cookies..maybe no bake ones:)

    1. I've pulled some out of the campfire that blackened, but never out of my oven...until now :o

Yes, once upon a time, they were candied yams. I was making the gravy and had just asked my daughter to check on them, when she said, "um...they're on fire."

      End of story.
