I love the New England Genealogical Historical Society and its like 85.00 to join. So I e mailed them and asked if I could pay monthly a small amount each month to cover my membership? Nope..no can do. I also did that with GENI and wanted to be billed monthly like ancestry instead of a large sum...they finally answered me after 3 more emails from me and said No! I would love to really be involved more with the old school clubs so I will keep trying!Anonymoushttps://www.blogger.com/profile/04253477173808426796noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-5034998384799920884.post-47761257367817203102013-06-27T22:48:03.218-07:002013-06-27T22:48:03.218-07:00Thank you, Mariann. So sad. Don't understand the dynamics that tear things apart so irreparably. And it isn't necessarily limited to small communities...Jacqi Stevenshttps://www.blogger.com/profile/03471698670217119444noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-5034998384799920884.post-69374444536581695772013-06-27T22:44:38.351-07:002013-06-27T22:44:38.351-07:00Ah, maybe someday...Ah, maybe someday...Jacqi Stevenshttps://www.blogger.com/profile/03471698670217119444noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-5034998384799920884.post-81919445802607348702013-06-26T16:23:19.172-07:002013-06-26T16:23:19.172-07:00Wise words. The academic world and the social world are both moving towards collaboration, and it's a way to get so much done! Much better than sitting alone. What I like about social media is that it is a form of collaboration, too. Very motivational post.Mariannhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/09543003593158696611noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-5034998384799920884.post-26931073297916417762013-06-26T07:38:34.483-07:002013-06-26T07:38:34.483-07:00I have a Vault that is about 15 feet long and 8 fe...I have a Vault that is about 15 feet long and 8 feet wide FULL of books..most on Genealogy Research. It used to be quite a group. Then they had a falling out with the Historical Society..and so far I have been unable to lure any of them back. Bad feelings run deep in small communities. Anyway..I have many old resources and will save them..but no one ever uses them. I am not sure IF what is in the vault is all online. We (the Museum) has very little online. Sorry to bend your ear..just frustrating knowing all the info is there and not being used.:(Far Side of Fiftyhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/07995757632158408442noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-5034998384799920884.post-2980403744983213022013-06-26T07:31:59.197-07:002013-06-26T07:31:59.197-07:00Well if I could..I would cook for y'all! It's a bit of a shame those of us that "collaborate" via Internet (blogs and comments for example) can't easily share some bread.Intense Guyhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/08441598926026727682noreply@blogger.com
