I just hope the DNA results are actually "accurate" and not something made up by someone at (or employed by) Ancestry to make things "look good" for marketing reasons.Intense Guyhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/08441598926026727682noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-5034998384799920884.post-88833720984169286312016-05-30T20:46:54.951-07:002016-05-30T20:46:54.951-07:00Have you ever written a blog post about poorly sou...Have you ever written a blog post about poorly sources trees versus how you do your sources?
I have that BIG project with The DAR Connection...I don't think it is right...but I still want to research it for my daughters. And my, don't they multiply when you're not looking?!

I agree: it's unwieldy to attempt re-doing everyone else's poorly sourced trees. However, on those lines I know thoroughly, I can sometimes spot where a match has gone wrong and gently bring up the subject with the researcher. In some of these long-standing lines in my mother's colonial roots, some of these matches and I have actually enjoyed piecing the puzzle together. But I'd never attempt it unless it was one of my thoroughly-documented lines.Jacqi Stevenshttps://www.blogger.com/profile/03471698670217119444noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-5034998384799920884.post-12628272249118221362016-05-27T19:41:10.753-07:002016-05-27T19:41:10.753-07:00I've decided that these NADs should really be ...I've decided that these NADs should really be NCDs - New Cousin Discoveries. All of a sudden, where I previously had two of them, I now have 24! There is one that I determined is a 6th or 7th cousin because I recognized the surname. It's the incomplete or poorly sourced trees that are the trouble. I'm not going to do someone else's research to figure out we might be 6th or 7th cousins. It certainly would be more helpful if AncestryDNA had a chromosome browser. I hope to find time in the next couple of weeks to blog about my supposed NADs!Elizabeth Handlerhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/05529452862369140506noreply@blogger.com
