It gives a "linguistics" style perception of how people saw life in those times.Jacqi Stevenshttps://www.blogger.com/profile/03471698670217119444noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-5034998384799920884.post-9290023007081638222013-04-16T14:51:03.467-07:002013-04-16T14:51:03.467-07:00I'm revisiting these comments today, after a m...I'm revisiting these comments today, after a modern tragedy yesterday put a halt to some people's "full life span" and it certainly is tragic. I guess every era has an aspect that causes mourning. And yet, somehow, I get the feeling we are more surprised about our losses than that past century might have been of theirs. It does seem there was more loss in those previous centuries. Perhaps that is just an illusion of distance.Jacqi Stevenshttps://www.blogger.com/profile/03471698670217119444noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-5034998384799920884.post-12915307204581051892013-04-16T14:47:37.665-07:002013-04-16T14:47:37.665-07:00If anyone could, Iggy, you would find a way to con...If anyone could, Iggy, you would find a way to conquer that challenge!Jacqi Stevenshttps://www.blogger.com/profile/03471698670217119444noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-5034998384799920884.post-90552473258704602172013-04-14T07:35:12.885-07:002013-04-14T07:35:12.885-07:00Over the great divide..I have not heard that phras...Over the great divide..I have not heard that phrase in a long time:)Far Side of Fiftyhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/07995757632158408442noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-5034998384799920884.post-40181204814998657512013-04-11T18:35:57.091-07:002013-04-11T18:35:57.091-07:00Loss as a way of life. Looking through my ancestors in the 1700s and 1800s, so very many people did not live what we would call a full life span. In today's world we're not used to that (with the tragic exception of gun violence -- I hope Congress does something effective.)<br /><br />I hope Maud and Sam can bear up under these losses.Mariannhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/09543003593158696611noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-5034998384799920884.post-64653476496967931382013-04-11T10:47:23.560-07:002013-04-11T10:47:23.560-07:00I went looking. :)
