Thanks for sending the link, by the way--I hadn't realized the brothers were subsequently used as poster boys for the war effort. Painful reminder. I wonder if that was with or without the family's consent...Jacqi Stevenshttps://www.blogger.com/profile/03471698670217119444noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-5034998384799920884.post-59051972162276151422015-03-10T12:12:20.740-07:002015-03-10T12:12:20.740-07:00I am reminded of the five Sullivan brothers of WWI...I am reminded of the five Sullivan brothers of WWII.

http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Sullivan_brothers

No family should need to sacrifice this much for their country.Intense Guyhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/08441598926026727682noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-5034998384799920884.post-37665087955275495512015-02-27T22:20:00.133-08:002015-02-27T22:20:00.133-08:00Just the thought of it is too overwhelming for me!...Just the thought of it is too overwhelming for me!Jacqi Stevenshttps://www.blogger.com/profile/03471698670217119444noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-5034998384799920884.post-59436296612546673022015-02-27T22:18:40.672-08:002015-02-27T22:18:40.672-08:00Ellie, for those who did learn about their ancesto...Ellie, for those who did learn about their ancestors while still in school, I know it augmented their interest in history lessons! Now, I find all sorts of happenings I hadn't considered--or even known about--surrounding the circumstances of my ancestors. It certainly provides an added incentive to absorb all this information. Sometimes, I come away from a history discovery with an entirely different viewpoint about a particular ancestor.Jacqi Stevenshttps://www.blogger.com/profile/03471698670217119444noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-5034998384799920884.post-75962777647503213272015-02-27T18:46:45.565-08:002015-02-27T18:46:45.565-08:00So sad, think of the poor Mother learning her sons...So sad, think of the poor Mother learning her sons were dead:(Far Side of Fiftyhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/07995757632158408442noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-5034998384799920884.post-1098805164214910782015-02-27T14:45:07.189-08:002015-02-27T14:45:07.189-08:00It's easy to miss all they lived through unles...It's easy to miss all they lived through unless you stop and look at what was happening around them isn't it?
