When we met, it felt like we were instantly friends--and even more, like we were fellow travelers on the same path. The time just flew by. I think it helps that we bloggers get to know each other a little through our writing, so we feel pretty comfortable together right away. Also, for me it was easy because you're such a nice person!

I agree that it takes a willingness to go out on a limb to meet someone who's essentially a stranger for the first time, but it's totally worth it. Like Wendy and Linda, I find meeting other bloggers refreshing and energizing. I'm so glad we got to spend some time together!Shelley Bishophttps://www.blogger.com/profile/07488453243236670013noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-5034998384799920884.post-54142333666263628162013-03-12T11:58:40.867-07:002013-03-12T11:58:40.867-07:00i think it is true for most bloggers that meet. We "geneabloggers" share a passion for family ties after all, so meeting others who are like-minded in this way seems quite natural. Reading the blogs of our fellow family historians is like hitting the "refresh" button in our brains. Getting to know them can do even more. It can energize us and show us different ways of approaching things and break us out of our comfortable shells. And yes, it can lead to friendships with some fascinating people, too.

Some would even say it's also great to meet others who don't flee when we start talking about all those "dead people" but understand our real purpose: to keep their memories alive for future generations!

Thanks so much for the kind mention!
Linda Huesca Tullyhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/12677498238088821264noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-5034998384799920884.post-16245467689906179522013-03-11T04:09:50.856-07:002013-03-11T04:09:50.856-07:00I KNOW! But my online friendships with bloggers have energized me about blogging and research, and I would definitely want to arrange a coffee date with them if we ever happened to be in the same city.
