I hadn't realized, until I got lost in a pile of "John Jacksons" how unfortunate it was to have landed such a common name for this little project...

Thank you for sharing the link, Patrick. I'll be visiting this file again soon and posting a few observations.Jacqi Stevenshttps://www.blogger.com/profile/03471698670217119444noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-5034998384799920884.post-60085409677288905572015-07-22T23:37:15.704-07:002015-07-22T23:37:15.704-07:00Good question. For William Ijams, it was the Revolutionary War...although the more I think about it, the more I'm inclined to look him up in the 1812 records, just in case.

As for the other--Lyman Jackson--it was his son who fought in the War of 1812, while Lyman (the dad) was the Revolutionary War Patriot.

Of course, it's the Revolutionary War service that qualifies for the DAR membership. But in the process, I have to link each generation to the preceding one. These early generations are turning out to be a bear to document, so I'm grasping at other (military) straws.Jacqi Stevenshttps://www.blogger.com/profile/03471698670217119444noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-5034998384799920884.post-2492888340196792232015-07-22T23:34:00.457-07:002015-07-22T23:34:00.457-07:00Ah, that is what I just found out :(

In this case, it was a widow who had been married before, so all the marriage details were preserved...even though I believe they were from a burned county originally.Jacqi Stevenshttps://www.blogger.com/profile/03471698670217119444noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-5034998384799920884.post-25955587821761206662015-07-22T21:01:52.990-07:002015-07-22T21:01:52.990-07:00Love those sketches, I hope you have good luck bac...Love those sketches, I hope you have good luck backing this all up! :)Far Side of Fiftyhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/07995757632158408442noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-5034998384799920884.post-34979538516432950032015-07-22T14:55:00.576-07:002015-07-22T14:55:00.576-07:00This is an interesting war record.
